Who says that Target is the only outlet for “designer discount” apparel? According to the New York Magazine, Macy’s does.

Come spring, Macy’s is launching the new menswear line, Thread & Heirs. What’s special about Thread & Heirs? One, is that it is a designer diffusion line that a variety of fashion designers will guest design each season. And two, it’s designed exclusively for men – no other diffusion line has done so.

So working men, what will you be able to expect come spring? You can expect to see the styles of Brian Wolk and Claude Morais, designers of Ruffian, showcased in the collections for the Thread & Heirs in spring and fall 2010. And of course, every diffusion line needs a muse. Those of Wolk and Morais come from Williamsburg and is based on the art of layering, what every working man needs, on a budget.
