Pretty in Pilsen. Chicago Style Soiree Delivered a Fashionable Affair
Just west of dim sum and and hot tea stood a warehouse in the Chicago Pilsen neighborhood. Within this warehouse on the third floor you were met with two mannequins posed next to two open doors with a table of cheese, meats, wine and beer poised between them. Thus was the entrance to the Pretty in Pilsen event held on Tuesday evening. Fashion label Crescendo Apparel, designer Kate Boggiano and jewelry collections by Objets d’Envy ushered guests between the two next door studios to peruse clothing, jewelry and seek style advice from…me!
I was honored to be a part of this recurring event, and had so much fun mixing and matching looks among the three featured designers. In fact, I even wore a blouse from Kate Boggiano and some bling borrowed from Objets d’Envy (I admit it was very difficult giving it back). During the guests’ shopping break, I delivered a brief presentation using all the designers’ looks on how to wear a blouse three different ways, how to accessorize in a professional sense and how to find the perfect pant. It was a fun discourse and established very fun conversation. It was a refreshing realization that what started as an event turned into a happy soiree! Thank you to everyone who came out and made the event the enjoyable excursion that it was!
